Sig-Freyr

This account is a way of providing a repository for the pictures I have made that I love. One's creations are somewhat like one's children, even to the extent of taking on a life of their own. In addition to saving the images I also want to use this platform to explain them. I have my weaknesses as a draughtsman and knowing this one inevitably faces a choice: reject them and improve or accept them and allow them room in one's process. I realised that my errors offered my work the mundane uniqueness that a fingerprint has. I love representational work but what is the point of a perfect representation? The camera has made that approach redundant. But by preserving and building on the mistakes and perceptual errors one can arrive at a kind of transparency. This transparency sits in a dialectic with the act of trying to fool the eye into seeing a 2 dimensional representation as a 3 dimensional object.
